    Air handler fan speed
My house is 1,687 square feet. We had a new unit pu in las year, a 3 1/2 ton unit to replace a 3 ton unit. We thought this would cool the house better. The current fan speed is on low and under normal temprature outside the unit operates fine. The split on the unit is 19.7 degrees. The problems is when tempratures are 92 to 95 outside the unit will not cycle, it is on at 3 p.m. until 11 p.m.. I wonder if the fan speed was set on medium if it would not pull the warm air out of the house better under this cituation and cyle the unit.

On a/c the fan should at least be on medium and in many cases high speed for proper operation. Since you had a new unit put in I would call the company that did the work and complain. These adjustments should be covered under a one year warranty from the company that sold and installed your equiptment.
