    Puppy pees in her sleep!
I have a female puppy who is almost 12 weeks old, and she pees even while she's sleeping. And it's not just a little bit, she'll pee a whole puddle and she'll be soaking wet. I have a cousin who works for animal control and has never heard of that happening. She pees in the house sometimes and she'll just be walking along, not squatting to go. I'd love to be able to let her be inside, but that's a huge problem for us.
Right now, I can't afford a vet, so any other advice would be much appreciated. Thank you.

Some animals just have bladder problems and they pee withoutrealizing it, so you could buy puppy diapers, so she won't go on the furniture, or herself, (as much!), and that would be easier for you because she could be inside! However she could have a bladder or kidney infection, which could be better diagnosed, and treated by a vet, I don't know what else to advise you, except to take her outside when she pees in the house, to try to teach her... sorry!

You can either put up with it and hope her body fights the problem off, or take her to a vet.

I have stolen this from a site administered by a fine gentleman that knows and loves dogs.

''Owning a pet is very rewarding, but too many times I see posts along the lines of "I don't have the money to take him to the vet".

This is completely unfair to your pet that is fully dependent on you for proper medical care and immunizations and grooming and training.

If you don't have the money to provide proper care for a pet, then don't get one. It is expensive at times. They need shots as puppies, spay/neuter, puppy care products, bortadella shots if you board them, heartworm and possibly flea preventitive, food and toys and annual vet visits and so forth. Grooming is expensive as are training classes. It is not cheap. And this does not even include medical difficulties that may come up.

It is listed in the board rules, but I will say it again, (the site I stole this from) is not a substitute for your vet. Only a vet can make a medical diagnosis. It is OK to discuss medical issues with others if the pet is under the care of a professional and want to discuss common experiences. It is not OK to have the internet diagnose your pet's condition.''

I don't make the rules here, but if I did, they would be much like on the other site.

Sll... I have an 11.5 week old puppy and he too had just been laying on the floor and pee'd and a lot as you were saying. It has not happened many times so I am not really concerned about it.I equate it to being along the same lines as training a child.. lol.. sometimes they get involved in what they are doing whether it be playing or dreaming and just let go .I suspect Jake will grow out of this and believe me we have had some training issues with him.He is doing a lot better since we got him ,but we still have to make sure we are keeping on top of getting him outside to go,so maybe if you stepped that up a bit she will get over that soon.I wish you luck!
