Trane 803 thermostat with Dehumidity Control
One simple question. If the dehumidity level is set for 50%, shouldn't the humidity remain at that level. It moves up and down from 50% - 55%. I understood that was the purpose of this control. To control the humidity at a constant percentage. Have I misunderstood?

Even the best systems half to have a certain amount of differentiat in the settings, if it did not then it would be constantly on and off. If it floats between 50 and 55 when set at 50 I would call this OK. Now there are more precise humidity systems in commercial applications, regards, Mike

Well obviously I misunderstood the installer. I thought he said that if I set the dehumidity control at 50%, the system would maintain the humidity @ 50% .

We have a Trane XL16i with variable speed air handler.

I've just felt uncomfortable about some of the answers I've been given by the installer.
