    New Furnace
I had a friend come out and look at my furnace because I was having some a/c issues and prior to it getting hot I was having some heating issues. Well the result is that my motor went. The furnace is/was about 25+ years old.

I now have to purchase a new furnace. Where do I start? And does this mean that I will have to get a new a/c unit for next summer? I have a split level with only 1 unit. But how much is too much to spend on a new furnace?

    Thanks

Call at least three A/C contractors and get bids, and I might suggest also replacing your evaporator coil in the process of changing out your furnace since it is probably old as well and if you do it at the same time as your furnace change out you can save money on labor compared with doing it separately.
I don't know the labor rates in your area nor the size of your furnace so I can't give you any prices, get references from friends, this is the best way to insure you get your monies worth. Good luck. Mike
