    Hampton Bay fan/light stopped working
Yesterday the fan and light stopped working from the remote. The fan works on high speed only at the wall switches (2) and will operate with either wall switch (or both) in the "ON" position. I have changed battery (9v) and also re-toggled the switches in the remote. Unit does not have any pull chains. All help will be appreciated.

What type of wall switches are they? Why are there two?

They are plain wall switches (rocker style.single pole, single throw). I am not sure why there are two of them but they control the fan and light independently of each other. When the fan was operable with the remote... it worked as long as one of the switches was ON... both the fan and the light with the remote. I have three other fans in this house that are wired exactly the same as this fan... with two rocker wall switches and the fan/light will work with the remote as long as one, or both, of the rocker sitches is on. In fact, one is a duplicate of my inoperable fan. It's unusual, but they were wired this way when we purchased the house... the house is only 4 years old.

Does the LED light up on the remote? Can you try the remote from the identical fan (switching the frequency to match this one) to see if it works?
