    I think I am lactating
I think I might be going crazy! I am 24 weeks pregnant and I think I am lactating. I will be studding or typing up a paper at night and look down and see a circular wet spot on my baggy tee. The spot will be near or over my chest. However, when I feel my areola it feels dry. This morning I woke to find a huge circular wet spot on my tee and my sheet. My areolas are always puffy and swollen with some sort of fluid retention. Has any one heard that it is normal to lactate this early? Is it a sign of pre term labor? Or am I crazy, it’s odd to me because I have never seen it happen. I have only seen my magically become wet.

At 20 weeks you can start lactating. It is not actual breast milk, but it is called Colostrum (sp?), which is what the baby will feed off when he/she is born until your milk supply builds up. If it happens sometime when you are nude from the waist up, take a look at it. It should be clear, or almost clear like water :)

I started lactating/leaking before I even knew I was preggy. It's nothing to worry about at all. It isn't a sign of preterm labor. It's just a sign that your body is gearing up to have that baby.
