    Cream for old scars
    :) Hi! I cut my hand when I was 17yrs old,now I'm 24 and my scars still obvious.Can you recommend me good cream to get rid of them.they are yellow colour,I like sun tanning. Thanks

    Dependent on where you live. I live in the UK and a cream called E45 is fantastic for old scars. It nourishes the skin and is used in hospitals to help with scar healing and moisturising.

    Some scars however will never disappear and can only be reduced slightly.

    If you like tanning then this will make scars more obvious due to the darker pigmentation of the skin around it.

    If the scars are really unsightly and bothersome you may wish to see your gp and enquire about having them removed.

    If you've had those scars for seven years, then they are permanent and may need to be surgically removed. You can try using Mederma. It's designed to help improve the color, texture and appearance of old and new scars. If you don't see a noticeable improvement, you might want to consult a dermatologist for a proper treatment that's right for you.
