Installing ceiling fan on covered porch
I have a covered porch that is lit by 3 can lights that are wired together and operated by one wall switch. I am wanting to replace the middle can light with an exterior ceiling fan. I am trying to figure out if there is any way that I can get around having to fish another electrical line from the fan to an additional wall switch that I will have to install. I want the fan and the other lights to work separately from each other. I am fine with having the fan control just on the pull chain. I just don't think there is any way to give the fan juice without having the lights on as well from the wall switch. I am also wanting to put a simple light kit on the fan so that I don't lose the original light source also. Can you tell me what the simplest method would be to install. I just want the fan and the 3 lights (2 remaining lights and light kit on fan) to work independently of each other by any wiring or remote control or pull chain method as long as it will be the easiest method. I don't want to have to fish an electrical line through the wall but I understand that maybe what I have to do. Thanks for your ideas

Unless there is an unswitched hot lead already in the ceiling, you will need to run a new wire. Check the boxes and see how many wires are in them.
