Toilet bowl does not fill like it used to.
I have an older toilet and recently the toilet bowl fills to only about half of what it used to. The tank fills properly and the fill tube is inserted into the overflow tube. By pushing down on the float for a few seconds I can keep the water running and fill the bowl. The level of the water in the bowl does not go down over time as if there were a leak.

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks.

Have you made adjustments to allow more water to fill the tank?

Yes. The tank fills up almost to the top of the overflow tube.

Open the lid on the tank. Flush the toilet. Watch the flapper. It may be getting 'too heavy', and closing sooner than it should. Sounds like it's time to change the flapper.

You sure got it right! I went and flushed and held the flapper up for a couple of seconds while the tank was filling, let go of it, and the bowl and tank filled just right.

    Thanks a million!
