We needed to know if our doschund is pregnant, she is about 8 months old and has been in heat once, which we did not know and we also have a 10 year old boy doschund that has been around her a lot, my mom says that her stomach is swolen or something so get back to me anyone , thanks

The only real way to tell is for an experience person to examine the dog a month or more after mating. X-rays or ultra sound are even more reliable.

I find posts such as yours very disappointing. If you are going to have dogs, you are obligated to learn how to give them proper care. That includes getting them spay/neutered by 6 months or taking care to avoid accidental breeding. Do you know or care that we are slaughtering millions of dogs every year for lack of homes? Quite often as a result of neglect, like yours, puppies are killed in less than humane ways after a short, miserable life.

I hope that you have had your dog dewormed and she has the proper shots. You would be wise to get your dog vet checked. Even if she were pregnant would you know how to help her deliver her puppies safely? I truly hope she is not . It is obvious that you are not a responsible breeder. Just an uninformed one. Maybe labamn can put up his website that gives you hints on why the everyday dog owner should not be breeding dogs. I think if you truly love dogs then you will want to do what is best for them. There are so many health and behavior benefits that can be had from spaying and neutering your dogs. Do you know that some types of cancer can be prevented just from spaying/neutering your dogs? Do a little research on breeding, spaying and neutering and on how many homes are needed for daschsunds that are in a rescue, looking for forever homes. Go to petfinder.com and look up rescue groups for daschshunds. Maybe you will have a change of heart.
