    Bathtub suggestions
Im doing a remodel on a small upstairs bathroom. I need a standard (non whirlpool) 5 foot tub with no shower surround as I plan to tile around it. At Lowe's & Home Depot, I have seen porcelein on steel (POS), "gelcoat" finsih and Vikrell from Sterling. Material-wise, is there a preference? Another thing I've observed is that the gritty non slip application on the floor of the POS tubs looks like it would be a collector for dirt and grime.

    Any guidance would be appreciated...

    Thanks in advance

I'm a big fan of American Standards 'Americast' material.

All the look and durability of a cast iron tub, and at a fraction of the weight.

I'm thinking the 'Princeton' just might suit your needs.

If Lowe's doesn't have the correct one (left/right hand) they should be able to order one for you in just a few days time.

You are right. The gritty non slip application IS a collector for dirt and grime.
We have to clean the tub at least once a week.

Wanted the Americast but needed a tub in a hurry.
