    Fan will not turn.
I have a Rheem air conditioner unit. My parts are under warranty for another two years. I was told that I can only get my free parts if I have a company come out and fix the problem for a amount that I feel is unreasonable. Are there a school that may come out and fix a problem like this? How hard is it for an individual to fix this type of problem? I do know I need a fan motor and a capacitor.

I don't know about schools going around and doing jobs like that but motor and capacitor (depending where you live) should be less than $200 if you do it yourself. It is not a difficult job to do however make sure you disconnect the power to unit prior to doing any work and discharge the capacitor as it stores electricity
