    Pre-Trial Conference/Mediation tomorrow
Tomorrow is the date of my Conference/Mediation in FL. I've been reading the forum here and others just trying to get an idea of what to be ready for tomorrow. At the time I'm unemployed with my wife supporting us. All the advice I get is to make sure you show up first of all. But I'm unclear of whether I should admit or dispute the debt right off the back. The debt was $2,766 when it was closed on 11/2004. On my credit report it states Arrow Finanical opened the account on 09/2004. I assume that's when they bought the account. Wouldn't the account have to be bought after it's closed is one question I have? It then shows I owe them $4,067 as of 03/2008. But the summons is for $2776.

The $2766 is something I owe and willing to setup a plan to pay once I start working again. One of the things I'm just confused with is should I admit to the debt then see about working a plan out. Or would disputing it be a better option and then try working out a plan? Thanks for any advice and I wish I had started looking into just a lot sooner.

First, don't admit the debt until they show documentation that the debt is yours and that they have the right to collect it. If they can do that, then you can deal with a settlement offer.
