Ahhhh! It sounds a lot worse than it is, really.
I guess you have to know my hubby, and me, and my ex.
The ex and I knew very early on that we were better off as friends. Yes we dated and stuff, but we were both teenagers. A lot has happened since that time and we remained friends.
If hubby had a problem with it I wouldn't go, no way no how.
Another thing is that we don't really celebrate Valentines day. To us it's just like any other day. I don't need one day each year to show hubby that I love him, I do that every day, so, it's really just another Saturday to us. :)
Okay, keep digging that hole Alty, you've already got one foot in, let's see if you can make room for the other. :o

Yeah... I am not the biggest V-Day guy... just an absolute WASTE of a day, in my opinion.

Valentine's Day is nothing big, granted I bought the fiancé Uggz and then having a dozen roses delievered tomorrow but we aren't making a huge deal of it.

And... on top of that (allow me to vent), the fact that it is an absolute commercialy exploited holiday isn't even the biggest concern I have. It makes every single person without a s/o in their lives feel less of a person... depression hits, you sit there alone, wondering, "What the hek is wrong with me that I have no one special to be with today?"
Commericals shoved in your face about flowers and jewelry...
GIVE ME A BREAK!!

Hubby and I usually just go out for dinner, with the kids (babysitter is way too expensive on V-Day).
Really, it's just a made up holiday so that the greeting card companies can make some money. Don't forget the florists and candy manufacturers too. ;)

She's been having a rough time lately so the roses aren't just for V-day, not too mention her birthday is Monday. We are spending the day together, taking her to lunch, got her a cake and going to enjoy each others company

Kc, do you want to come out with me and the ex on Saturday? We're just going
To a pub, nothing special. There's a cute waitress there that he wants to hit on,
I'm pretty sure you'll find someone you fancy too.
I'm a pretty good wing man, or wing chick. Just leave it all up to me. :D

No, I have a date... I just think it is unclassy how a lot of people have to sit there and have this crap shoved down their throat, as if having a boyfriend, or girlfriend, is the end all, be all of civilization... that's my only problem with it.
Personally, I don't care about having a date or not... I like saving money.

I never really took the whole Valentines day thing seriously. There were times that I
Had a date and times that I didn't, I really didn't care which it was.
One of my exes always made a huge deal out of Valentines day. Flowers, dinner, a gift and then a hotel room every darn year. Then he'd do the guilt trip. Look how much money I spent on you, you owe me! After 2 years of dating I realized the pay back price was way too high and broke up with him 2 days before Valentines day. Okay, that may have been a bit mean but I was 18 and didn't know what else to do.
V-day sucks! ;)

You're both lucky! I think it's great that you found someone so special. Lately it
Seems that all we hear about is failed relationships, obsessive relationships, abusive relationships. It's nice to hear that there are people out there that make a relationship work. :)
Heck, I've been married 14 years this May. Ahhhh 14 years? That can't be right! Wow, time flies when you're having fun!
