Hi everyone,
I hope everyone is paying attention to the news and newspapers concerning the nasty "super bug" staph infection; MRSA. This is worldwide.
I own a several commercial cleaning companies in Chicago. We have already provided quite a few "Infectious Clean-ups" for schools, fitness centers, medical clinics, surgical centers, etc, to kill the infections. Serious
Stuff, passed by contact; kids in school are high on the list. Long sleeves, long pants, wash hands often, this has killed. This has been around since 1960 however has evolved into something more powerful and is resistant to a lot of antibiotics: This "bug" can live on surfaces for over 24 hours.
Google MRSA for more info; see below for brief:
"Overview of Healthcare-associated MRSA"
"Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) is a type of bacteria that is resistant to certain antibiotics. These antibiotics include methicillin and other more common antibiotics such as oxacillin, penicillin and amoxicillin. Staph infections, including MRSA, occur most frequently among persons in hospitals and healthcare facilities (such as nursing homes and dialysis centers) who have weakened immune systems."
"MRSA infections that occur in otherwise healthy people who have not been recently (within the past year) hospitalized or had a medical procedure (such as dialysis, surgery, catheters) are known as community-associated (CA)-MRSA infections. These infections are usually skin infections, such as abscesses, boils, and other pus-filled lesions. (see Community-associated MRSA. )"
People need to be aware and use precautions.
J you may have more info.

If we take the precautions they suggest it will help. From my knowledge and from what I have read... it is very dangerous... "once of prevention worth a......"
