Kae,
I saw a documentary on this place you linked, sounded very interesting.
Hi Firm! How are you..
I would love to see it for myself.
I saw a doc on either this place or one like it and have been intrigued since.

It shouldn't be long before 1,500 posts are reached now! I wonder what happens on the screen when 1,500 are reached? Maybe, "You have reached the end of this thread. There is nowhere else to go now. Go start a new thread somewhere else, and get on with something else that is productive in your life!" Kind of like reaching "The End of the Internet."

I think what happened with you was that the store sold you sick fish if I'm remembering correctly and you had a hard time cycling the tank too - high ammonia, cloudy water...
Firm has a good idea, or you could get hardier fish.

Yeah the place where I got them sell a lot of sick fish. ITs hard to find a place around here though that sells them... my boyfriend has pond fish in his tank. What I'd like to get is this thing I seen 1 time at the pet store. It was a rope fish.. it was a fish but it looked kind of like a snake. Have you ever seen them?

Yes and they are pretty cool. That would probably do nicely in your tank.

I don't know anything about them though. Like taking care of them. Are they kind of rare or something? I tried looking them up online and couldn't find a whole lot.

That's probably because they are more commonly referred to as Reedfish :)

And Rope fish is correct too, it's just been called a reed fish longer.
Lots of fish have different common names - I don't know why that is because it can be confusing.

I had these one fish and I don't know what they were but I really liked them... they would always come right to the top of the water when I opened the lid to feed them. Their were 2 like light blue almost white ones and an orange one. They weren't really small but they weren't like huge. The orange one was my favorite. But they all died.

I think I really want one but can I ask you a couple questions? Would my tank be big enough? I read something about a 55+ gallon tank. And do you know if it would be OK being the only one in their? Or do they like company?

They do get pretty big, they might be OK if it's the only one.
I'll need to read up on them in order to give you the correct information.
I have a great fish book and I'll look it up tomorrow, then I'll find a website for you that has all the right info.
The link above is accurate, but I know there is more info on these fish.
I need to sleep now, so you have a goodnight and I'll be in touch with you tomorrow:)
