It wasn't an "i don't like what you're saying" reddie. It was a factual error. Being a historian, I should know.

HistorianChick disagrees: Ma'am - Webster's Dictionary - Colloquial contraction of Madam or My Lady. Free Online Dictionary - a polite address for a woman. Thesaurus - Noun, a woman of refinement. That's not sexist. That's class.

I agree with Historian chick and Webster! I love it, I also believe I feel flattered when someone calls me Ma'am. Mucho thanks to you for giving us that history report! Hugs!

I'm proud to be a woman and a lady. Granted, sometimes it makes me feel old if a pimply faced kid calls me ma'am, but its done out of respect and honor. And hey, what girl doesn't wish she was back in the time of Knights and Ladies - being called My Lady by a Lancelot look-alike would be OK in my book! :)

(course Tennessee Dream and The Belle of Nashville are pretty swell too! :D)

Rp's son, I have had the honor of hearing his little voice and there is nothing better than a southern boy saying "Yes Ma'am"... (out of resect obviously) I call people Ma'am at work and I don't seem to offend anyone, I even get called it...

    Lady Alty, I like it.

Does that mean I can say things like "Out darn spot, out I say."?

As I told my mother this weekend, "You can swear if you're quoting Shakespeare!" So, sure!

I put a spin on Shakespeare all the time - "Darlin, heal thyself!" :D

    News Flash!

Remember the post that Sneezy wrote about this morning. The one about the guy (to use the term loosely) that admitted to raping a mentally challenged girl from his school. Well, he didn't like what we had to say, so apparently he signed up under a different username and is posting more bull kaka all over this site.

I would really like 5 minutes alone with this guy. 5 minutes with 5 of my friends, and him.

    Hello all.

I'm back. As I suspected... 4 questions, took us 2 hours.

I didn't finish a question, but upon leaving, I found that no one did. I feel OK.

I just went through 60 or something posts... oh man.
