Naser Jason Abdo, an Army private arrested in 2011 for plotting to blow up a restaurant full of GIs had 2 pressure cooker bombs . Also Faisal Shahzad had a pressure cooker bomb in the van he rented when he attempted the Times Square bombing .

So the last 2 times a pressure cooker bombing was attempted in the United States ;it was a jihadist.. So I think the odds are much greater that it was this time again...

I'll go into even greater speculation . Iran has been threatening to make attacks inside the US for months now. However ,it would be a bad idea for them to be conclusively tied directly to such an attack. Umm no... the nature of their attacks have clearly changed to lone wolf or small cell operations of jihadists who are more likely than not domestic recruits who watch jihadist video on the net. They do not always claim credit . They did not claim credit for Major Hasan even though his attack on Fort Hood was a jihadist lone wolf operation.

Edit... also the pressure cooker bomb is standard issue in the Middle East . Look it up.
