    I agree with Harold no reason for cartridge to leak just remove the cartridge one more time turn on the water for a few seconds to flush all the debris out, inspect the inside of the valve with a torch for any scratch clean the cartridge use some silicon gel install and see, Thanks.

    Those cartridges are NOT really similar in any way that I can see... look close. I'm amazed that you got the new cartridge in place at all!

    Moen will send the correct cartridge and you should be all set!
