This is what I would do: block her everywhere, phone, email, the works.

So it didn't work out with the new guy-poor her-NOT!

You are not her shoulder to cry on,do yourself a huge favour and go complete NC and disappear from her pathetic little life.

You should just hang up the phone and said you're busy and got to go. It's not rude, I think it's rude when she call and talk about her boyfriend or ex. Sound like you're still weak and not firm on your decision. Talking to her will bring back old feeling again and set you back.

What is stopping you? Tell her off or don't pick up the phone at all.

Who cares if it's rude? Not returning the $200 you lent her, calling you petty for rightfully wanting it back, calling you to complain about a new love-interest.. . And you're worried about coming off as rude?

I think you know what to do, you just don't know how to do it.

It is inappropriate for her to call and cry on your shoulder about her new/old boyfriend. If she were a telemarketer, would you allow that person to bend your ear for an hour because you didn't want to be rude? Think of her as an ex, selling you something- like false hope and promises. You know you don't want to subscribe, you can't afford to go into emotional debt again, and the love has been put out with the trash. In other words, she isn't selling anything that you want to buy.

When she calls, distance yourself from falling back into the same old predictable pattern. Simply interrupt her, and say, "I'm sorry you're having boyfriend problems, but, I don't want to discuss it with you". She may get her nose out of joint because she sells so well, so you have to repeat yourself, exactly the same. She will either hang up on you, or you're going to hang up on her. Either way, don't buy what she's selling.

It really is as simple as that. As long as she's selling, and you are hedging on buying, she's going to keep trying.
