    Lil Pea & Jesus Helper,

Some folks just want to be adversarial I guess. But anyway, Bi-polar disorder does run in my family but what it is exactly I'm a little unsure. My sister told me one day that she's manic depressive or something like that and my younger brother actually has paper work for his condition. I wish there was a cure for these illnesses because a lot of folks suffer from them and don't even know it. I read somewhere that bi-polar and manic depression are the same thing. If that's true then why the two names. Just goes to show that more work is needed in finding solutions to these disorders.

Manic depressive, schitzophrenia, bi polar is all essentially the same thing. It is not easy to have the condition and it is extremely hard to understand those who have the condition. They can be "up" happy, etc for hours, or days, or weeks and be wonderful people to be around. Then they can "crash down" into the depths of depression where no one can reach them. They are essentially "cold" emotionally also. Most are very self centered and extremely selfish and unreasonable with others. Most can have episodes where they trash the house in some rage situation and then wake up the next day wondering who did that to their house? I wish there were a for sure cure for these unfortunate people, some "pill" that would make their brain chemistry normal again. Sadly, most of the medications out there are not doing them any good at correcting the chemical imbalance they have.
