I hear there are a lot of good qualities about the wiccan beliefs. To ease her maybe try sharing some of the positive beliefs about their teachings. And the more you tell her about WHAT you believe and she starts asking questions then you can share more with her until you feel comfortable enough to tell her. You will know when the time is right.

I was a Morman for over half my life so was my mom and the rest of my family till we went inactive about three years ago. My grandmother however (bless her soul) is a very religious woman and throughout it my grandma has tried to make us active again. My little brother and sister go with my step dad sometimes now, but me, my mom, and my older sister don't. My grandma has given up on getting me to come back cause she knows I've found a new religion she just doesn't know what. I needed cloth for my alter and asked my grandma for several different colors of cloth (she's a sewer so I know she had alot) and she asked me what it was for. I told her it was for my religion and she just looked at me confused and said I'd have to tell her about this religion sometime.

I love my grandmother so much, she's one of the few I have left, but I'm kind of scared to tell her. She has asked me about it a few more times since I asked for the cloth but I keep avoiding it. I don't know if she believes the same thing about Wicca alot of people do (that we are devil worshippers) or that she will believe I've "strayed away" and am going to hell. I don't want to put her through that cause she's 63 years old! I know though that I can't keep it from her forever, that I'll have to tell her sooner or later. How do I tell my Morman grandmother that her oldest grandchild has become a Wiccan? I don't want to cause her uneeded stress....

P.S. to add on (as you would know by my name) I'm also bi... this is something else I haven't told my grandma about... I'm scared she'll be upset by this as well. This is something that wouldn't be hard to hide from her but I'm so open about my sexuality I'm scared I'll let it slip that I'm bi (one of the obvious things being looking at a really hot girl infront of me or something like that). Should I let her know or just hope that I can keep my mouth shut?!
Our spirituality and sexual orientation are personal matters and there really is no need to have to share your personal choices with your grandma. My spiritual leaning is quite different then my mothers and in my younger years I felt the need to dump that info on her. The results? It crushed her and served no other purpose. She'll glean this info on the other side where she'll have the capacity to fully understand it. Best wishes
On a lighter note, my niece and sister are also wiccans. I'll have to let them know about this little exchange you all have going!

Well it's something I'm going to have to tell her eventually. I'm dead set on having a wiccan wedding. My boyfriend doesn't have a religion so he's trying out wicca but said that even if he doesn't like the religion that he would still do a handfasting with me (this is the guy I want to marry no if's or but's and he's the same way). I can't just not invite my grandma, and she's going to want to help plan my wedding and stuff. So I have to tell her sometime.

P.S. I'd love to meet your sister and niece if they want to join the site ^.^
