It's hyperbole. Now, tell me why it's so effective.

Not literally. Now, tell us what that verse means.

It compares the faith we need to do great things for God to a mustard seed. It cannot speak of the amount of faith since, in the same passage, Jesus tells His disciples that they could not cast out a demon because of the "littleness" of their faith. So it must mean that, just as a mustard seed grows into something much larger, so genuine faith, if nurtured and cared for, will also grow large.
That's my take on it.

Taking a page from your playbook, why do "we need to do great things for God to a mustard seed"? Hold on while I diagram that sentence....

This was the sentence. Stop being dishonest by only pasting part of it. If you can't diagram it, then that's your problem, but don't be dishonest.

Same problem. Misplaced modifier (the prepositional phrase that begins with "to").

Whatever. You were dishonest and won't even own up to it. Shame.
Anyone with an IQ of 80 or better could easily understand it. I'm sure that includes you.

My son burst out laughing when I read it to him. "Why do we need to do great things to a mustard seed???" You may have to stay in at recess and rewrite this.

Did he laugh about his mom being dishonest? I suspect not. I'm sure you didn't bother to mention it, did you? Should we change your name to "DishonestGirl"?
"Why do we need to do great things to a mustard seed?" Teach your son to listen and think, but try it yourself, first. It's a ridiculous understanding of the sentence.

That's always been obvious that you don't accept the answer. I have to smile at someone who claims answers are unsupported and unpersuasive. This is coming from someone who believes in talking reptiles.
That's why I consider it to be just so much nonsense.
Like talking reptiles nonsense? '
That must explain why you NEVER use a passage as support for a belief.
I have used Bible passages many times to explain or defend a position. You know that, yet you claim differently. So many instances of your saying things like that is why you have so little credibility here.
You simply think your own preconceived ideas trump the words of the Bible.
Any ideas I propose are never pre-conceived. They are the result of reading, study, discussion, learning (formal/informal), honest thought, and others - as all my ideas are.
I don't believe I have ever asked you to engage in any discussion. Sit it out if you want to. It makes no difference to me.
Apparently it makes a huge amount of difference to you. How else to explain your constant repeated attempts to engage me in various topics? So intense that some questions have been repeated to the point of annoyance to other members here.
The best explanation I can rely on for your hate-filled behavior is ADS. Athos Derangement Syndrome.
Back to your room now.

Where? Remember my as yet unanswered question? "Where did Jesus ever say that there would be no day of judgment," and how you wrongly said it was affirming a negative, and yet even when corrected, never could bring yourself to answer it?

If you'll remember, you had me blocked at one time. You decided to undo that and resume the discussion. It's fine with me one way or the other, but don't suggest I try to "engage you" in various topics. Get out or get in, but stop whining about it.
You've been mad since I called you on the Aquinas deception. I'd suggest you admit to it, get over it and move on.

What I said was you cannot prove a negative. You still don't understand it after all this time. Sometimes I wonder why I bother with you at all.

I have always ignored you since I started to and continue to do so. Every so often, I look at your posts and decide to jump in. I do this when you get out of control with your egregious posts. It's like chasing a rat back into its hole. That's not literal - it's a figure of speech called a simile.

It's not a suggestion, it's a fact.

It's clear you desperately want me to be mad re Aquinas (how else explain your constant bringing it up?), but no, I thought you were troll-like long before Aquinas was brought up by me. Any "deception" originates in your ADS belief.

What I said was you cannot prove a negative. You still don't understand it after all this time. Sometimes I wonder why I bother with you at all.
First of all, you certainly can prove a negative. I can prove, for instance, that there is not an adult African elephant sitting on the couch in my living room. A person can very easily prove that some statement is not in a body of text. But even at that, it has been very patiently explained to you that you are not being asked to do that. You're just afraid to answer. At any rate, I've already answered the question for you. We can affirmatively say that at no time in the Gospels did Jesus say He was cancelling judgment day.
I have always ignored you since I started to and continue to do so. Every so often, I look at your posts and decide to jump in. I do this when you get out of control with your egregious posts.
Now THAT is funny. You "always" ignore my posts except, of course, for the many times you don't? Might want to look up the definition of "always". I blocked Tal months ago. I "always" have him blocked and don't regret it a bit. That's why you don't see me responding to him. That is "always" how it works.

Today's example is Winston Marshall. He is a musician. His crime?
The musician was criticised after tweeting support for conservative US journalist Andy Ngo over the weekend. In a now-deleted post, Marshall said he had read Ngo’s “important” book Unmasked: Inside Antifa’s Radical Plan To Destroy Democracy and praised him as a “brave man”.
Now to the left, to simply support a book which has, as it's basic premise, an idea which is clearly true, is an unforgivable sin. He has issued the obligatory apology and decided to take some time away from his participation in the group with which he plays.

On the positive side, Piers Morgan has refused to back down from his view of the ridiculous MM interview. I don't always like PM, but I do like courage. Stick with it, Piers!!

.
I certainly think there is an adult asian elephant in your living room. That elephant is you are arguing a negative, all the things Jesus did not say were not written down. The positive is that there will be a judgement day, that is made clear
