    Motherboard failure?
I have a HP Pavilion a708uk. With which I have a problem. I've been toldit needs a new motherboard, but I'm a bit dubious because when I got it back the memory module wasn't seated properly.

When I try and boot it all I get is a black screen with no error bleeps, the l;ights on the keyboard do not flash either, then seconds after I turn it on the monitor switches to stand by.

I would be very grateful if anyone could offer some advice.

    Thank you.
