Motherboard
Ok, my dell Inspiron 9300 is acting up again, the power supply cord which is a female plug will not stay tight into the port. So the screen flashes bright and dim as it goes from AC to battery.
It does the same thing on my AC and my DC supply. So it is not the exterminal plug it is the plung in the unit.
I have just gotten off the support with Dell, and they are sending me a new port and mother board, ( and a tech to put them in)
But my question is, when they change the mother board am I going to lose all my info saved on my computer, and is there info on the mother board I need to erase or something so they don't take all my data with them.

No, Any info is on your hard drive, not the motherboard. The only thing actually stored on the mobo is the CMOS system settings.

Thanks,
After a monitor, two hard drives, this is the second mother board and a new keyboard, I have just about had it on this things, it is all under warranty and they fix it right away, but I guess it just does not hold up to 18 hours a day use M to F and 6 to 8 hours a day on weekends.
The bottom of the lap top gets hot all the time, is this normal for laptops,

Yes, CPUs generate heat as does the battery. That's why they make cooler pads for laptops.
I've had problems with the keyboard on my Dell as well.
