    Daschund Skin Problems
I've have a 9 mth daschund and she has been a great delight in my life. However, until about 2 months ago I noticed a growing bald area on her body. The bald spot is about 3 inches wide. The problem continued with hairless patches, more like receding hair on her rumpus/hind area, back legs (mostly). When I take her a bath there is an amount of hair loss that washes off. I'm concerned it's mange??

Feeding consists of twice a day, dry food mixed with wet food.

Is this mange or do is it some kind of skin allergy...

    Thank you J_9.

Fred, I would hazard a guess that it may be mange or a flea infestation, but since we can't examine your dog it is hard to say. The fact is, whether it is mange, fleas, an allergy, or something else, your dog needs to be examined by a vet so that the problem can be diagnosed and the proper treatment can be given to her as soon as possible. Poor thing. She must be very uncomfortable. Please call you vet and get her in as soon as possible.

I wouldn't try to diagnose and treat a problem like that myself. As RubyPitbull said, call the vet.
