It's more likely you will fail however. Sort of like standing in the middle of a dark highway at night hoping you won't get run over.

It depends on how much, how often before and prior history of use.

In general it is border line, and you may fail.

It was actually 78 hours since intake of last drink. About 14 shots. Maybe a few more. History of drinking but recently have stopped in such frequency. 5'10" 158#

14 shots is some seriously heavy drinking. People with a history of heavy drinking actually take LONGER than average to metabolize everything and clear their system than the average person due to permanent damage to their liver, etc.

That is considered a binge drinking session. Which means that your body is going to be creating a LOT of EtG/EtS. That implies that it is going to take a while for your body to eliminate it. You also said that you have a history of drinking, that isn't working in your favour.

A EtG/EtS test is supposed to be able to detect alcohol consumption 60-80 hours afterwards. There is a lot of research that suggest that time frame is less. There seems to be special cases though, and those tend to be people with a history of heavy drinking will test positive for longer, some times up to 100-120 hours. You fit in that category. The other problem is that we know nothing of how your body deals with alcohol. The EtG/EtS tests are measured to a standard bell curve that is accurate for most of 90% of people. Some people over product EtG/EtS and eliminate it slowly, or eliminate quickly and produce little and all combinations of that. I don't know where you fall.

My OPINION is that you will probably fail it. Please take the time from now until you face the consequences for your lapse in judgement to put your affairs in order.

Thank you for your time. I have taken steps to not drink anymore, but slipped up. It's an ongoing issue with me and wasn't allowed to enter rehab at this time. Im hoping that after my appointment with a center coming up soon that they will allow me to get the professional help I need

Damage to the liver and how that adversely affects metabolism is one of the reasons some people will fail even beyond 80 hours will some will pass at significantly less.

Besides rehab... do get yourself into one of the other programs that help keep your from Slipping up, such as AA or some other. In fact look into them now before you get into rehab. It will require a long term commitment and discipline on your own part, most likely the rest of your life. But in the end the trouble it saves and your better health staying sober will make it worth it.
