    Tap goes round and round!
When I try to shut off the hot water from my kitchen tap, it just goes round and round, never tightening completely. We have have to push down quite hard to make the water flow even slow down - it still drips no matter what we do. What would cause this? Is it likely to be something we could fix ourselves?

    Thank you

IT sounds like the mechanism for the tap is stripped. You could look at just replacing the valve on the tap, but I think maybe replacing the entire kitchen faucet assemble might be better and easier. They're not that hard to replace provided the new tap fits the footprint of the old tap.

I'll bet a pizza that the splines of the handle are stripped. A faucet stem doesn't just go round and round.

    Any takers?

Take the cold water handle off and put it on the hot water side. Tell us what happens.
