    Outstanding Warrant
    I left the UK over 4 years ago now and today, I had some communications with my ex wife who told me that the police turned up at the neighbours (of my old house) asking for me as they have a warrant for my arrest

    Im major stressing out about it as I have absolutely no idea what its for or anything as I've been left for over 4 years, I have a new life and a new wife here in Canada, a steady job and responsibilities yet now I'm concerend that I cant fly back to England to see family or cross into the USA without being arrested for something I have no clue about

    Is there an online search database where I can find information on what the warrant us for as I believe arrest warrants are public recored arnt they?

    Or is there anything else I can do that won't risk my freedom (so that I can deal with it, not so I can get away with it), I just don't know what to do, I have no idea why Im wanted so therefore am hesitant to make any form of direct contact

    Are you sure our ex is not just playing games ? Can you ask a friend back home to make some inquiries ? Other then this, it means facing the music, but it may not be the truth.

    You can hire an attorney who can do checks though official channels.

    It also can effect your immigration status also.

    You need to find out, I also agree, your exwife could be messing with you. Is there nothing, they may be looking for?

    I was one of those lucky ones who had a sensible agreeable divorce and have remained on good terms with my ex so if someone is looking to serve a warrant on me then it can only be the truth

    I cant face the music as Im no longer in the UK, if I called the police who served the warrant would they tell me what it was for or is that a dumb question (ive never been arrested or done anything wrong so I have no idea what the procedure or process is, so therefore have no idea if I can just call and ask them)

    You could call the police in the UK who have the un-served warrant (They didn't serve it on you because they didn't find you). Ask they what's it all about.

    You might want to hire a solicitor to find out about this in your behalf.

    You do realize that, if the authorities are serious about prosecuting you, they would first have to extradite you?

    Yes I had thought that would be the case but I honestly don't think it could be anything serious, I mean really Im not a law breaker, the worst it could be is maybe some traffic violation or something from my initial brief visits back to the uk (during the first few months of me having left) maube a sppeding fine or something that I wouldn't have gotten information of due to no longer being in the UK
