Crying over stranger's death, is it normal?
I found out that a friend of my friend has passed away few years ago. She was young, beautiful, vibrant and so happy. I found myself looking at her profile on social media, reading all the lovely messages from her family and friends and crying my eyes out. I am quite emotional person but even when celebrities pass away, it doesn't hit me that much, makes me sad but not cry, except for Amy Winehouse. So why, does this happen with this lovely lady whom I never met? Is it normal ? Life is cruel sometimes, she was so beautiful inside out it seems, its just not fair :(

Death is difficult for everyone. You don't have to know someone to be affected by their death. It's perfectly normal to feel sorrow over someone's demise. It just means your human, and have a soft heart. That's not a bad thing, other than the fact that things will tend to affect you more than others.

How old are you, if a teenager, often your emotions are much more like that.
If it is not effecting your life, no issue, NO , most people are not like that, some do not even cry when closer friends or family die. Others cry more.
This is you, there is no normal.

Thank you so much for your response :) I know very well how much things affect me due to my emotions, life has been an emotional rollercoaster for me. And I have accepted it and learnt how to deal with most of my emotions but for some reason this lady's passing made me very sad. Maybe she reminds me of someone I know or used to know, not sure, maybe I have even seen her before passing me by on the street, there is something about her that gets me deeply, just not sure what. Thanks again

Thank you for your response :) That's the thing, I am well out of my teens and still just as emotional. The quote ' This is you, there is no normal ' means a lot to me so thanks. My whole life I wander why am I so emotional, what is wrong with me.. My father used to say that I was too fragile and the better person than anyone in my family. I never believed that, the second part. He also feared that I will get hurt because of it so he raised me to be very careful and not show my emotions, the real me. I guess one day hell broke loose and I have never been able to put my ' face ' back on. Emotions overflow me every other day and I embrace them these days as they are mostly positive, reflective and grateful but this time it was very intense.
