    Osteoporosis and apple cider vinegar
In your opinion, is apple cider vinegar good for osteoporosis.

Can you explain why you say that please.

    Thanks in advance.

It is all folk lore, none proven. One milligram of calcium in one tablespoon of apple cider vinegar does not come close to the 300 milligrams of calcium in eight ounces of milk, as some promoters of apple cider vinegar claim. In fact, it supplies only a tiny fraction of the 1,000 milligrams a typical adult needs in a day. Vinegar also contains little potassium. Take a calcium and vitamin D supplement.

Nothing is going to improve osteoporosis. Typically bones are riddled with tiny holes. No amount of supplement will ever improve this condition.

And yes, apple cider vinegar uses are old wives tales.

You can't just drink milk or take calcium and D supplements because it's a complicated process to replace bone, and mostly it's a matter of prevention of bone loss rather than replacing it, except for teeth. What isn't mentioned a lot in the sales pitches for supplements is that without exercise, calcium cannot be taken up by bone, and it forms outside of the bones in hard deposits, which is worse for you than the osteoporosis.

If you do exercise regularly, by all means eat dairy and take vitamin D, but not more than the recommended amounts. If you don't exercise, you still need some of both for your health, including blood pressure. As for cider vinegar, it's a healthy aid to digestion and absorption, but like any food or supplement, it's no cure all by itself.
