Help! I'm cold!
I have a single stage heat pump with auxiliary heat strip to cool and heat my house. It was wired with an Janitrol HPT 18-60 thermostat that was not working properly. There was 7 wires attached to it that was not labeled, a yellow, green, red, orange, white, brown and blue. The Janitrol has attachment points for Y--G--R--O--W2--E--C. Replaced the Janitrol with a Hunter 44134. The Red, Green, and Yellow wires seem to run the cooling section of my heat pump, but I have not been able to get the proper sequence of wire attached for the heat and auxiliary strip to work and it has been damn cold the last couple of nights. Any help with my problem will be greatly appreciated.

Dear Grady,
They are listed in this sequence:
RH--RC--Y--G--W--O--B--W2--Y2--A
The RH and RC are connected... The rest are single connections.
I appreciate any help you might give me Grady.

Sarg,
I hate to tell you this but what you've bought is junk. I replace more Hunter thermostats than all others combined. Take it back & get a Honeywell or White Rodgers. I know, they cost more but believe me, you'll be money ahead.

Do you have any suggestions for a good one under $75?

I don't know what a Honeywell 5000 series sells for but they seem to be a good stat. It's digital, two stage heat, one (maybe 2) stage cool, heat pump compatible, & non programmable.
