So Cruz is a DeMint puppet? DeMint is a Koch brothers puppet. Is this not crony capitalism on your side? How is it better than our crony capitalism?

Here is a list of the top corporate donors... The Koch Bros. are on the list... But they aren't in the 50 top corporate donors.
    Top All-Time Donors, 1989-2012 | OpenSecrets
It amazes me how the left demonizes the Koch Bros when the largest percentage of corporate $$$ goes into Democrat bank accounts . DeMint and Cruz are not fans of cronyism . And at least the Koch brothers donate their own money... not like the unions who make donations from rank and file dues.

Also of note... that evil News Corp, parent company of FOX News gave a majority of their donations to Democrats. What does that tell you ?

Hey don't make this about me and what I do. My statement was about what Tom posted. Seems to me your growing minority future ain't sitting well with you TParty types, who are failing to attract those who want government to work for all of us.

You would rather holler, squeal, and obstruct, and destroy, than MAKE it work. You can't work with your fellow republicans who want to work with democrats and find middle of the road solutions to self inflicted problems. And Ted Cruz is the new messiah to deliver for you.

The goal is to destroy our government, and that's pretty selfish of you.

You're the one who said we don't like our own guys, I'm just pointing out neither do you.-And if I were you I'd cut the "we just want to make it work" nonsense. The president won't talk to Republicans but he will talk to Iran. Reid pronounces everything the GOP does DOA - even if some Dems support it - and your idea of "live and let live" is in practice, "you'll do as I say and like it."

When was that, right after he said "I won?" After he mobilized his snitch patrol? Some of us remember the facts quite differently.

Not true . They were shut out of all the substansive meetings when the law was crafted . 45 separate Repub amendments were rejected out of hand without debate or a floor vote.

Your facts are incomplete, While some amendments were rejected, many more were adopted.

Republican Ideas Included in the President's Proposal | The White House

Review a few of the Republican initiatives included in legislation passed by Congress:
•Includes personal responsibility incentives: Allows health insurance premium to vary based on participation in proven employer wellness programs
◦(Sources: H.R. 3468, “Promoting Health and Preventing Chronic Disease through Prevention and Wellness Programs for Employees, Communities, and Individuals Act” (Castle bill); H.R. 4038, “Common Sense Health Care Reform & Accountability Act” (Republican Substitute bill); H.R. 3400, “Empowering Patients First Act” (Republican Study Committee bill); H.R. 3970, “Medical Rights & Reform Act” (Kirk bill), "Coverage, Prevention and Reform Act")
•Advances medical liability reform through grants to States: Provides grants to States to jump-start and evaluate promising medical liability reform ideas to put patient safety first, prevent medical errors, and reduce liability premiums.
◦(Sources: S. 1783, “Ten Steps to Transform Health Care in America Act” (Enzi bill); H.R. 3400, “Empowering Patients First Act” (Republican Study Committee bill); H.R. 4529, “Roadmap for America's Future Act” (Ryan bill); S. 1099, “Patients' Choice Act” (Burr-Coburn, Ryan-Nunes bill))
•Extends dependent coverage to age 26: Gives young adults new options.
◦(Sources: H.R. 4038, “Common Sense Health Care Reform & Accountability Act” (Republican Substitute bill); H.R. 3970, “Medical Rights & Reform Act” (Kirk bill))
•Allows automatic enrollment by employers in health insurance: Allows employee to opt-out.
◦(Sources: House Republican Substitute; H.R. 3400, “Empowering Patients First Act” (Republican Study Committee bill); “Coverage, Prevention, and Reform Act” )
    •Mechanisms to improve quality.

•Community Mental Health Centers. The President's Proposal ensures that individuals have access to comprehensive mental health services in the community setting, but strengthens standards for facilities that seek reimbursement as community mental health centers by ensuring these facilities are providing appropriate care and not taking advantage of Medicare patients or the taxpayers.

I'm sure that in the 2000 pages of the law there are some provisions that once the emperor's flunkies searched long and hard enough had some simularities to previous Republic bills. There were SPECIFIC amendments that were introduced by Repubics that were ignore and dismissed out of hand without consideration or debate . That is just the facts . The Repubs were shut out of the crafting of the legislation... something LBJ NEVER would have permitted to happen.

Well that was a time when the Dems had all the power ,and still had the courtesy to make major sea-change legislations bi-partisan. All LBJ did was get entitlement and civil rights legislation passed with Republic support .

Times have changed. People are partisan fanatics and divisiveness is the order of the day - bringing the other person down. No pubics required.
