    Smashed finger
A month ago I slammed my middle finger in the door a blister formed next to the nail and the nail turned purple right away. I did not poke the nail and squeeze like in the past, but did poke the blister and relieved the pressure there.

Now the nail appears green and it is separating from the side and bottom where moisture gets in and is starting to bother me. Plus I know if this should catch on anything it will be worse. Not sure what to do.

When that happens to me I clip the totally lose parts back as long as it doesn't hurt. Then I wear a bandage over it until it falls off.

Thanks, I was going to try that, but hoped I was not going to lose the whole nail or have to wear a bandage forever.

It should fall off within 3 weeks to a couple months depending how fast your nails grow.
