University Police threatening me?
I was on the top floor inside a dormitory of the university I attend. When the elevator doors opened two normal looking men were in there. One looked about my age, younger, and the other looked to be about 40. I thought that was strange. My 2 buddies hopped off the elevator at the 2nd floor. I stayed on to return to ground floor to return to my living space. When my two friends hopped off & the door shut one of the men asked me if there was alcohol in their backpacks. I stated I didn't know & would like to see some identification if I was going to be questioned more. ONE of the officers identified himself with a badge. I asked the other younger one for his at which point the officer cut in and yelled, "this is our identification" while both officers flashed me their guns in the elevator. At this point I was scared for my life and ultimately was arrested for a minor in consumption without being breatholized. Is this against what university police officers are allowed to do? What should I do? If I file a civil suit, would they be willing to drop my MIC charges, if I dropped the civil suit?

First, what proof do they have of consumption? If they found no alcohol on you and no evidence of drinking in your blood, I can't see them successfully prosecuting you.
Second, were you charged by the local police or just the university?
Finally, did you file a complaint with the university security?
P.S. ANY question on law needs to include your general locale as laws vary by area.

Sorry, I can't read their minds.
But a civil suit? What were your damages? I do, however, think that they should be prosecuted for assault with deadly weapons, and fired for pointing firearms at you.

I am sure they will deny they drew guns. I have seen the Judges take the word of police because they are 'the authority'. I can bet they did it in the elevator because no cameras and probably no witnesses.

Not really the topic, but:
WHY in the WORLD didn't you just shrug or say 'I don't know' and leave it at that? This was about your two friends, not you. You couldn't have arranged to get arrested better if you had begged them to.

I don't read that guns were pointed at anyone. The OP said "flashed me their guns". It appears they were not in uniform so I'm reading that they opened their jackets to show their concealed weapons. Still not justified, but a somewhat different story.

No breathalyzer, I don't see what he'd be charged with other than some bogus thing like getting smart with a cop which isn't against the law in its self.
