Help? ETG test 66 hours after last drink.
I had to take an ETG test 66 hours after my last drink today. I'm an overly-active 27 year old male, who had 7 drinks Saturday night, and took the test Tuesday afternoon. I say overly active because I ride my bike several times a week, plus I work at a wholesale warehouse as a parking lot attendant/cart pusher for 6-8 hours a day, 5 days a week. I rarely drink alcohol anymore.

I drank about a gallon of water, plus pineapple juice and green tea before testing- Am I going to pass?

My suspicion is that you will fail for watered down urine.

That's the problem- with riding my bike everywhere, I probably drink about 4L of water a day.

And that's your explanation if you fail.

I'm just so nervous. I was the best man at a wedding, so the toast and drinks with the groom. I read that a heavy drinker can metabolize ETG faster- I used to be a heavy drinker several months back. I'd say about 8 or so. I stopped in October. Would my body still potentially metabolize faster? My stats are 27 year old male, 6'0 and about 195-205lbs in above average shape from cycling and my job. I was eating while drinking, also.

Does anyone have any insight past conjecture, perhaps?

I have always passed after 40 hours and drink a lot. You can drink tons of water but just not within 3 hours of taking the test. As long as the urine has a tint of yellow, it won't be diluted. I also take a lot of B vitamins. I am an overweight female, over 40 yrs old and do not exercise.

So there is a chance I could pass this thing? The test is set at 500.

I guess "Mocha's" advice is based on the experience of an overweight female (self admitted) who drinks "a lot." My experience is based on years in the legal system.

Her theory that urine is determined to be diluted or not diluted based on color is preposterous.

    Consider the source.

Definitely a chance, look at all the studies

I would like to see the studies about passing/failing based on the color of urine.

And, yes, no question there is always a chance of passing/failing. I've seen strange results - and strange results have been posted here on AMHD.

You can look up all the studies by doing a Google search. If urine has some color in it, then it most likely has enough specific gravity to not be diluted. Yes, the test is not reliable and there are false positives as well as false negatives.

I did look it up - I can't find anything which refers to the color of the urine being tested. What sight(s) did you use? This question is asked on a regular basis and if there is additional info those of us who always post the answer about diluting should be aware.

I told the poster to look at the studies for information on how long EtG is detected, nothing on the color of urine. In my experience, the specimen is only diluted if the urine is clear.

I am withdrawing from this thread because it's turned into bickering between us and no help for the OP.

You don't remember what you posted which was: "As long as the urine has a tint of yellow, it won't be diluted."

So I'm still pretty confused- based upon how much a drank, my vital stats and history, the amount of time from last drink to test, and the level the test was set at, what am I looking at here?

There are no guarantees. The odds are that you will pass - but no one can promise you that. Of course, you test as watered down, you will automatically fail and then you present your evidence that you bike X miles a day and drink X ounces of water a day.

Meanwhile, ignore the "color of urine" idea. It's flawed and unless you are an obese female it does not apply to you. A person who cannot recall what she posted several hours earlier is not a good source of info.

Couldn't get back to edit - the general rule of thumb is that alcohol metabolizes at about one beer or one shot of liquor every hour. Anything above that "one an hour" collects in the bloodstream and metabolizes at that same rate - one drink an hour. If it's 66 hours you "should" be clean.

It varies somewhat due to various factors but 66 hours? I think you're okay.

I'm sure it's different for every state, but what's the average punishment for an auto fail from diluted urine on probation? Would you assume it would be a re-test, or a violation and go to jail?

There is no average. Could sentence if not granted probation, sentence plus time for failure, a warning, just about anything in between.

Again - read the figures. If you metabolize at half speed you could have had 33 ounces and still pass.
