    I think we all have to balance our expectations with reality, and a rushed arranged marriage just doesn't allow for things to develop in my opinion. You cannot reconcile a lifetime of hopes and dreams in 20 days, nor understand another. His past scares you which is understandable and to bad you cannot spend a year to just get to know each other.

    Maybe despite your parents desire for you to be married to some one now, neither of you is really ready for that life changing step yet.

    Is there a way to put off a marriage and really get to know this man, to spend more time with him and establish a friendship?

    Yess he keeps on saying to marry after a year. But I want to settle soon. Nevertheless, I planned to leave him. I think I won't be able live with him. I don't know its right or wrong but I decided to leave him and let the reason be his wrong decision in past. I would like to thank you all for suggestions .
