Your post doesn't make a lot of sense. You're job hunting right now, which means that you're not employed, but then you say you can support yourself. How?

In order to become emancipated you have to prove to the courts that you can take care of yourself. That means that you have to have a job where you're making enough money to pay for your basic needs, which are shelter, food, bills, medical expenses, etc.

At 16 you're only qualified to get a job making minimum wage, and you likely won't find a full time position. Worse, you don't even have a job yet. So really, how do you know you can support yourself?

You will have an apartment, pay rent with no help, buy food, pay utility bills, and totally care for yourself financially and emotionally and physically?

ANY question on law needs to include your general locale as laws vary by area.

No you don't need your parents permission, you need a court order. Not every area even allows emancipation.

It can be tough even if you are emancipated to live on your own. Most landlords will not be willing to rent to you for concern the lease won't be valid if signed by a minor - that's just one challenge.

My son used to talk like this to me when he was annoyed with my rules. Then I included him one time when I was paying bills. He was in charge of the calculator. As the household bills approached and passed the $2,800 mark for one month, he changed his tune about moving out. Then he went to my refrigerator and ate more of the free food I provide like clockwork. Unless your home is abusive, take your time.
