If he's into mario, Get him a mario/luigi top or even if he has a Nintendo DS get him a mario game.

Don't get him anything.
My theory of gifts is simple: if you can't think of anything to give, don't give anything - DO something nice. Sing a song, write a poem, draw a picture, bake some cookies. Put them in a box with hearts all over it. Who doesn't like cookies? And if he's totally into Mario, won't he already have every Mario object there is?
Besides - at 14, you shouldn't be spending real money on boyfriends.

Here's my cookie recipe:
Follow the recipe on the Ghiradelli semi sweet mini chocolate chips (expensive but much better chocolate).
Cut the sugar down by an eighth (cookie recipes are always too darn sweet). Cut the butter by a quarter and add chunky peanut butter. Throw in some wheat germ and a tiny bit of OJ. I add baking powder to make them more cakey.
Healthy cookies, or at least you can say they are.
