    natural detox
I used super q caps (natural herb product) as a pre-detox coming back from a long vacation due to constipation. I also take random drug screens for my job and had one the same day as I took the caps, I was called 2 days later to submit another screen, which I did. I don't know the results of the original test but I was wondering because of the herbs if they suspect that I was attempting to adulterate the sample. The caps do contain protein, creatine, and a number of herbs to cleanse the intestinal tract.

That could be but wouldn't be my first guess. The basic screening process (immunoassay) can cross-react with a large number of unrelated substances but usually in such instances the sample is submitted for confirmatory testing which would clear up the screening error.

More likely is that the sample wasn't properly identified and/or sealed at point of collection, the requisition wasn't properly filled out. Damaged in shipment or at lab. There are many reasons for sample rejection and it is usually related to paperwork.

Thank you for your response. Are you familiar with the Super Q Caps? I looked them up on the internet and found out that people could use them for trying to pass their drug screen, it masks the drug for up to 5 hours. I found them at my GNC and the clerk recommended them to me for a quick start detox and then I followed up with a 7 day herbal detox. I guess I am over analyzing the situation, I learned that it also affects your specific gravity and creatine levels and this is what the MRO looks for during the analysis to determine if you adulterated the sample or not. What do you think? The closest I've been to any mind altering substance is smoking a couple of cigars on vacation but I could also be in a lot of trouble if they think I messed with the sample.

Not familiar with the Q caps. If they are regularly used to mask drugs then it is possible a lab has picked up on that, they regularly search the drug sites on line, and may test for it.

If that were the case however then the MRO would have contacted you by phone. I assume you are in a regulated field where an MRO review is required?

I am still more inclined to an administrative error of some sort.

I was thinking that they would contact me personally because the lab where I give my specimen gives me a receipt of me giving the sample and they tell me that if there is a problem the MRO will contact me, I do my testing through a monitoring program for the Board of Nursing. I don't know if the caps are regularly used at all but I am randomly selected and it could be a total of up to 3 times a month and technically it was July 31 and Aug 2 so it could just be very random anyway.
