Sounds like you need a professional to test the compressor fully, and the sealed system for any leaks of coolant.

I don't have a problem with that but I would like to pin point the problem a bit closer as funds are a bit tight. If it is a coolant leak I would like to find it myself rather than paying some one to do it for me. Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks for your time.

If the compressor is running along with the fan, then the unit will need to be taken apart to inspect the sealed system (coolant lines and components) to find out if there is a leak or a restriction. Unfortunately you are going to need special tool to test the unit - it also requires getting inside the unit which is quite complex. Have you tried to search for DIY videos for a similar situation? Not saying you could completely fix or find the problem on your own, but they are definitely out there and known to help.
