EtG question
I am a w/male, 250 lb. 55y/o. I consumed 375ml of 80% proof whiskey from 6 to 10 pm on Friday night. 10 ounces of 4% beer saturay night over 20 minutes Saturday at 9pm. How do I figure my chances of passing an Etg/ets test Monday at 3pm?

That is 8.5 standard drinks (US) @14g pa ea. The beer is inconsequential to the timeline.
There is no formula for calculation of amount of EtG created or rate of elimination. Widely variant from one individual to another.
Based on time from last drink > test, 65 hours, you will probably be clear or below level of detection. You are in a range where detection is possible but not likely.

Thanks Dr. Bill. I did my own research based on your posts and links and came to the same conclusion. Just wanted to hear what you thought.

Thursday is out of picture. Time of first and last drink on Friday as well as your gender, weight and height is needed

Based on the amount and pace of consumption you should have no EtG/EtS in system 58 hours later. No certainty at that range but is detection is very unlikely based even on 100ng cutoff.

My Boyfriend drank 3 bud light beers around 7 pm and 1 bud light around 11 pm and then 2 coronas around 12 am from Thursday night and stopped at 1230 am Friday morning. Then Friday he had 1 bud light around 6 pm then 2 bud lights around 9 and 1 more at midnight. He has drank a lot of water and had a meal with the Friday night beers. He drinks red bull also. The next 2 days he drank a lot of water and ate normal large meals. He weighs 180 pounds he is 5-9 Male. He got a surprise EGT test Monday morning 9:45 am. I am curious if he will pass. He couldn't urinate so he had to sit there till he could which he drank a lot of sink water till he could urinate at 945 am. I am not sure what the cutoff is but it is for a DUI diversion program. Any help would be appreciated.

Wish I could feign surprise at the improper collection procedures but it is SOP for the field. Water should not be accessible to a subject and allowing one to drink water in order to facilitate urination is strictly prohibited due to dilution. That being said it would influence the test by reducing EtG present.
That is largely irrelevant as your boyfriend shouldn't have any EtG in his system based on spacing and timing of the drinks noted.

Hi Dr. Bill. Thanks for all your input on this site. I have a question. I am male, 5'9, 170 lbs. If I drink 7 alcoholic drinks Friday night ending at 2am Saturday over a 4 hour period. My ETG test is at 8pm on Monday. I drink lots of water and exercise. How would I look for the test? Also I tend to drink either vodka/soda drinks or beer. Does it matter which? Thanks!

At 60 hours it is very close. Tell me your gender, age, height and weight.
Do you know cutoff for the test?

It is possible you could pass at 60 hours after 14 beers. You are in a range where there is little research. Your pace of consumption, 2+ beers per hr kept your BAC on the rise, and pure alcohol in relation to weight (1.8 g/kg) is high. Both are hard to calculate and not good indicators, but EtG findings are very erratic above 48 hours.
Overall, you are squarely in a danger zone for detection. If the cutoff is 500 your chances improve quite a bit.
The only data indicates a wide clearance range from 39-90 hours probably averaging 66-72.

Hi Dr. Bill. Thanks for all your input on this site. I have a question. I am male, 5'9, 170 lbs. If I drank 5 beers and 3 mixed vodka drinks on Friday night ending at 2am Saturday over a 6 hour period. My ETG test is at 8pm on Monday. That is 66 hours from last drink. I drink lots of water and exercise. How do I look for the test? Also I tend to drink either vodka/soda drinks or beer. Does it matter which? Thanks!

I never get involved in planning drinking episodes, can get in a lot of trouble that way. Second, as much as I know about EtG and EtOH metabolism it falls short short of being able to reliably predict EtG synthesis or elimination in a specific case.

DrBill - I'm sorry if I was unclear. This is not a planning episode. I did drink that amount on Friday night and ETG test is at 8pm on Monday. I have been drinking lots of water and exercising since. What do my chances look like for Monday? Thank you!
