Ok I got placed on probation and 1 of the conditions was put the interlock device in Any car that I drive. I did & couldn't get the thing to work so I bought it back & had it removed! Well I'm married & the car is shared we both on the insurance. Probation officer calls me the other day & asked for the reports I told her I did not drive it for 5 1/2 months she said that I should have turned in the plate but I don't see why when my husband drives the car too. I completed everything I had too except the interlock issue. My question is what should I do before I go to court? What to expect when I go to court? Should I get a attorney?

You should have an attorney, you should expect to go to jail.

You can not remove it, without talking to your PO first.

How many cars do you have, two or just the one ? But the device was to stay on, sorry I see a at a min a shock visit to jail for a week anyway, but could be more.

Prosecuter told me & my husband if I didn't drive I didn't have to install it. I didn't drive for over months. I went down to court this morning & they said my word wouldn't cut it. So would I need witness or? Would I be facing jail time even if I completed everything they asked except that 1 thing?

That's the whole idea. It's not supposed to work, unless you are sober.

Instead of having it removed, it would have been more reasonable to insist that the company which installed it get it to work. Therefore I tend not to believe your story. The judge probably won't either.

Guess what, it does not matter what the DA says after conviction, the DA has nothing to do with it after conviction, It is up to the judge and the PO, the PO is like God and probation is the church, his word is law and he can revoke you for not following it

Mrs R, You missed the point when the judge gave the order and you are still missing the point after the others have clearly explained it to you here.
The judge wanted to make certain that any cars available to you would automatically require you to be sober--or you couldn't start the vehicle-- but you made an end run around the judge's order, by substituting your reasoning in place of his or hers, and the P.O. did his/her job and caught you at it.
For however long it has been you have had the opportunity to drive drunk again unimpeded by the devices the judge ordered and you could have done so and you could have killed me or someone I love.
Whatever punishment the judge has in store for you-take it and know full well that you have earned it.
