Can the IRS seize my wife's assets to satisfy my debt?
I am currently under currently not collectible status with the IRS for $19000 in back taxes which were filed in my name only. My wife did not have any income at that time so I was advised to file in my name only. In the past 2 years she began to receive a small income for social security disability, so we filed jointly both years, and paid what we owed for those years. Can the IRS seize her car or bank account? If she buys a house in her name can the IRS seize it?

If you filed separately for the years in question, no, IRS cannot move against her.

Anything in joint names, of course, can be liened and/or seized.

Judy has it right. As long as the back taxes are only in your name, your wife's Assets are safe.
