Did you check the valve on the cold water feed to the tank to be sure he turned it back on? Let me know, Tom

If that's so your cold water feed is turned on. Now I have to know if you have a gas or electric water heater. Just hang in there with me and we'll get your hot water back. Tom

Have the plumber come back and fix it.

What type water heater? Gas,oil electric? If electric, is switch for heater on and is the breaker on?

If gas or oil, is the pilot light on or the electronic igniter working?

Coming into the heater at the top u will have 2 pipes. Each pipe will have a "turn wheel" or lever valve. They should both be on. If lever valve lever should be in line with pipe.

If "turn wheel" it should be open.
