I got stung by small yellow jackets yesterday... after I was stung I put egg whites on them to get poisen out.. due to me being highly allergic to them... but today I still feel as if I am still being stung the areas are swollen, red, hot, and has a large rash around each... I have taken benydril as well as put some on the areas also I have taken antibiotics, also put hydracordazone cream but nothing seems to help... should I go to the doctor or is there something else I can do?

If you knew you were highly allergic to them why have you not gone to the emergency room yet? Common sense dictates when you are aware of such a situation that will likely result in Anaphylactic Shock that's the first thing you do. You do know you might wake up unable to breath in a full on reaction in the middle of the night that emergency services would not have time to get to you to treat?

Now before you think I'm being overly dramatic... I've had such a reaction before, and for the very same reason.

I don't have insurance and if there is any way that I can not have to go would be great.

Well... lets put it this way... there really isn't if you have a full on reaction like is almost a certain thing if your allergy is severe as you said. And if one comes on... you better hope you are physically close to someplace with the capacity to treat you.

Literally... I had a severe reaction once and it's a damned good thing we only had to drive 7 miles on traffic free country roads, it was the middle of the afternoon on a weekday when the dr's office was open. Because if I had to have hightailed it to the closest ER... I likely would not have made it in time.

The emergency kit needed for these requires a Dr.s prescription to buy.

You MIGHT have gotten lucky and misidentified the type of bee... or your allergy is not as severe as you thought it was.

When I had my first severe one it took 5 minutes from the sting to the first symptoms of a reaction... 10 minutes from the sting for a nurse who happened to be on the phone with my mom that lived down the street, to over hear me tell her the weird things that were happening, 15 minutes from the sting for the nurse to run over... and 25 minutes from the sting to arrive at the closest Dr. office at twice the posted speed limit... and when I arrived I had COMPLETELY swollen head to foot and my throat was starting to close as we ran into the Dr's office, Took 2 emergency kits to arrest and reverse the symptoms... I only survived due to my young age... it would have killed a much older person my Blood pressure shot up to over 290 (yes the Dr. was sitting there in front of me constantly checking and rechecking. And I had a secondary reaction 12 hours later that required a trip to the ER... that reaction happened much slower.

SO if you are near a 24hr medical center... like minutes away... you MIGHT be able to wait and see... but I'm not a Doctor, only someone who has been through this several times. And eventually got the desensitization series that did work.

This is REALLY a life threatening situation.
