What to do if the one on your birth certificate is not the father
My previous partner signed as father my daughters birth certificate; but is not the father. When asked for child support he disputed and requested a DNA test since he knew he was not the father. My questions is how do I correct my daughters birth certificate now with her real fathers information. Her real father is my partner and has been for the last 10 years. I do not know where to start.

Depends on where this is - it is also a crime to sign a birth certificate falsely. Did anyone mention that?

    How old is the child?

The court order where the court declared him not the father, the bio father petitions to be reconised as the father. Contact your dept of records as to making the change once the bio father has been determined to be the father.

    How old is the child?
She is 9 now, and at the time he was fully aware when he signed the birth certificate. We were going to give ourselves a second chance. It is in Riverside County in California

It is a crime to falsify a birth certificate, no matter what the reason is.

I need to take a look at California law.
