My shower leaks into my family room but my bathtub doesn't leak
HELP! My daughter had a shower in our main bathroom when we first bought out house. We noticed it leaked down into our family room ceiling. We have not done a 2nd test since as my husband is afraid it will make more of a mess of the ceiling. We have however been using the bathtub on a regular basis and when you drain the tub... it DOES NOT leak. What should my first step be outside of having someone come in and start ripping tiles or drywall down be? Thanks for anyone's help!

I assume the shower is in the bathtub as many are... and you don't have a separate shower.

That would indicate either a problem with the surrounding tile grouting or caulking. Possibly even the plumbing from the diverter to the shower head is leaking.
