I need someone to talk to about my grades
I just saw my results of my first semster in college. I had 1 C, 2 D`s and 2 F`s which means I have to repeat two courses. I`m not dumb, I never was. I just joined college and don`t really talk to people, but that is no excuse for my failure. I don`t know what to do. In high school, I always got A`s and B`s and now, I got just ONE B. I know how disappointed my Dad`ll be, so I lied about my result. I told him I had one B, two C`s and two D`s. I`m confused, and I`m sad. I`ve cried my eyes out already. Failure doesn`t feel good. Help? Anyone? I`m a guy. I`m 19. And yes, I cried.

The issue is this is not high school, the requirements to study is different, you are going to have to take. Study groups, better note taking.

    Hi Sam,

I guess it goes without saying that you are struggling with the mathematics. I assume you did these subjects at High School?

Yeah, I did. And I aced them. In my finals in final year, those were the two subjects I has A's in. I have no idea what's wrong.

I think you scheduled too many tough classes at one time or classes that required a lot of studying.

One thing I did in school was not to schedule more than 1 difficult class at a time, or if I knew that one class that needed a lot of time to devote to studying I would schedule easier classes with it. Environmental Science is an interesting class but requires a lot of studying.

I would talk to an academic advisor about scheduling because she or she will have a good idea of what classes would be good to take together and this would help you so you can devote most of studying time to the tough class.

Good luck and I wish you well in your future studies.
