    Do I have a claim
My friends and I were going shopping and I tripped on a display that was in the way and I broke my ankle. Do I have a good enough case to bring this to court? My medical bills were bigger then I thought and I'm not sure if I can afford it.

I think that you should visit the store manager and talk to him about it. He or she may not have realized that the display was in the way. You never know-he may offer to pay some of the bill! And I hope your ankle gets better!

Have you filed a claim with the store's insurer? Or do you just post questions so you can answer them?

Interesting - second person I can recall who posted in one name and then answered - and argued - with himself or herself under another name. Normally it takes more than 3 minutes to answer your own post.

I'm a liability investigator. A lot depends on the State. If the store was aware that the display was a "menace" the store should have moved it or removed it. How many people navigated around it without breaking an ankle?

Your medical bills should be covered 100%. Pain and suffering - something else. Some stores are more receptive than others. Walmart, for example, is tough. They don't pay.

I trust you filed an accident report with the store immediately?
